Grow Choco Blast Chilli Pepper Seeds – A Brand-New Variety for Heat Lovers

Looking for an exciting new challenge in the garden? Choco Blast Chilli Pepper Seeds are a brand-new, high-heat variety that delivers both striking looks and fiery intensity. With an impressive Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) rating of around 472,000, this chilli is perfect for enthusiasts who love extreme spice. Each plant can produce up to 50 glossy, wrinkled, conical fruits, maturing from green to deep red before ripening into a rich chocolate colour. With their distinctive appearance and powerful kick, Choco Blast Chilli Pepper Seeds are an excellent addition to any spicy food lover’s garden.

Growing Conditions

Choco Blast Chilli Pepper Seeds grow like any other chilli but require support as the plants develop due to their high fruit production. They thrive in warm, sunny locations and perform best when grown in pots or greenhouse conditions in the UK, though they can also be grown outdoors in sheltered areas during the summer.

Planting Guide

  • Sowing Indoors: For the best results, sow seeds indoors between January and February. Plant them 0.5 cm deep in seed compost and keep them at a constant temperature of 27–32°C for the highest germination rates.
  • Transplanting: Once seedlings have at least two sets of true leaves, transfer them into individual pots. Harden them off before planting them outside when nighttime temperatures remain above 10°C.
  • Outdoor Planting: If growing outdoors, choose a warm, sheltered location with well-drained soil. Keep plants 35–45 cm apart to allow airflow and strong growth.
  • Supporting Growth: As the plants grow and begin fruiting, use stakes or cages to support the heavy crop.

Care & Maintenance

  • Watering: Chilli plants prefer consistent moisture but dislike waterlogged soil. Water regularly, especially during dry periods.
  • Feeding: Once flowers appear, feed weekly with a high-potassium liquid fertiliser to encourage strong fruiting.
  • Pruning: Remove any lower leaves that touch the soil to improve airflow and reduce the risk of disease.

Harvesting & Storage

Choco Blast Chilli Pepper Seeds produce medium-sized fruits (approximately 7 cm long by 3 cm wide), though size may vary depending on growing conditions. The chillies will turn from green to red before reaching their final rich chocolate-brown colour.

  • Harvesting: Pick the chillies as they ripen—leaving them on the plant longer allows the heat and flavour to develop fully.
  • Storage: Fresh chillies can be kept in the fridge for up to two weeks or dried for long-term storage. They also freeze well.

Culinary Uses

With its intense heat and bold flavour, Choco Blast Chilli Pepper Seeds are perfect for hot sauces, salsas, marinades, and curries. A small amount goes a long way, making this variety ideal for those who enjoy experimenting with spice in their cooking. The deep, rich tones of these chillies can also be used in smoky or chocolate-infused recipes for a unique flavour combination.
