Nadine Seed Potatoes – High Yielding and Showbench Favourite

Nadine Seed Potatoes are a second early variety, developed by the renowned breeder Jack Dunnett. This popular showbench winner is prized for its smooth, oval-shaped tubers with very shallow eyes, which offer both high yields and excellent storage properties. Nadine produces uniform, large tubers that perform well in various growing conditions, making it a reliable choice for UK gardeners. With a firm, creamy flesh, Nadine is perfect for both boiling and mashing, delivering consistent results in the kitchen.

Key Features:

  • Second Early Variety: Harvest between July and September, approximately 13-15 weeks after planting.
  • High Yield: Produces large, uniform tubers that store exceptionally well.
  • Showbench Winner: A favourite among exhibitors due to its shallow eyes and attractive appearance.
  • Versatile Culinary Use: Ideal for boiling and mashing, with a firm texture and creamy flesh.

Planting and Growing:

  • Planting Time: Plant from April to May, once the soil temperature reaches 8°C.
  • Sowing Depth: Plant 15cm deep, with 30cm between tubers and 70cm between rows.
  • Growing Tips: Earth up the plants regularly to protect the tubers from frost and light. Water consistently during dry periods to ensure healthy growth and maximise yield.
